Canbet Poker Review

Software: Canbet Poker are part of The Microgaming Poker Network (formerly Microgaming Poker), using software by Microgaming. While the general look of the software is now pretty dated, and has seen little change over the last couple of years, there are updates being made that are not seen anywhere else in online poker. There is a clever mini-view that allows you to fit up to four tables neatly onto your screen without overlapping at all, and a neat feature that allows you to rotate the seating position without actually moving your seat on the table relative to other poker players. This means that you can have four tables in a normal view, and position yourself on the extreme corner of each so that you can always see your own hand, without using the mini-view. Both features are unique at this time in their presentation. Overall the colour scheme is one of the more pleasing on the eye in the Microgaming Network. The useability itself is smooth and user friendly. 7

Support: Telephone support is free to UK and Canadian residents, and there is also an excellent Live Chat facility. Unfortunately email support can be very poor, so the two former options are to be advised. As ever with Microgaming, if the problem is at a network level, then the answer can take longer to find, but this is a Microgaming problem and not Canbet Poker’s. Also, if you’ve played on Microgaming before you will run into the usual hassle when trying to get yourself logged on for the first time, due to their one 7

Banking: Canbet Poker accept Neteller, Moneybookers, Maestro, Switch, Solo, Visa, Mastercard, and Bank Drafts. Plenty of alternatives to suit any UK user, and payments are quick and easy. 9

Bonuses: Canbet Poker have a $200 Welcome Bonus, which in this day and age id far from the best, but not the worst either. Time will tell on their reloads since theior switch to Microgaming. While part of the Ongame network they were notoriously absent, but hopefully the change in poker software prompts a major rethink on their customer retention options. 5

Game Availability: Canbet Poker, and Microgaming Poker Network as a whole are now growing very quickly after a considerable time of stagnation, in part due to the acquisition by the network of high profile brands like Canbet itself. There is a bias more towards the big bet games of No Limit and Pot Limit here that is more marked than on other sites, so if you prefer this variation, then Canbet Poker could be the one for you. With many Scandinavian centric rooms also feeding onto The Microgaming Network, there is an abundance of games from 4pm to 11pm GMT, with wild plays and multiple bluffs associated with the Scandies in general. You’ll need big balls to play with these boys, but pick your spots well and you’ll be laughing all the way to the bank – literally! 7

Game Toughness: Canbet Poker has some very weak players at all levels, possibly attracted by the generous daily freerolls, creating some of the easiest poker games on the internet. This site is a must for any player who is serious about exploiting the poker fish pond, but choose carefully, as there will be seen flop games in the 20% rate and 50+% rate at the same level. 9
