The Gaming Club - Review (Print this article)

Gaming Club - More Winners, More Often

The Gaming Club Online Poker Room, is the multi-player poker sister to the online casino of the same name run by The Belle Rock Gaming Group, online and regulated in Gibraltar since 1995.

Software: The Gaming Club are part of The Prima Poker Network, using software by Microgaming, and widely promoted by the well known London poker playing gang, The Hendon Mob. While the general look of the software is now pretty dated, and has seen little change over the last couple of years, there are updates being made that are not seen anywhere else in online poker. There is a clever mini-view that allows you to fit up to four tables neatly onto your screen without overlapping at all, and a neat feature that allows you to rotate the seating position without actually moving your seat on the table relative to other poker players. This means that you can have four tables in a normal view, and position yourself on the extreme corner of each so that you can always see your own hand, without using the mini-view. Both features are unique at this time in their presentation. Overall the green and yellow colour scheme is not to everyone’s taste, but nonetheless it is smooth and user friendly apart from the annoying account number that you must remember whenever you log-in, which is especially annoying if using different computers. 7/10

Support: Telephone support is free to US, UK and Canadian residents, and email support is answered normally within a few hours. The answers are usually pretty well informed and to the point. The only gripe can be that the network can over-rule individual card-rooms and make getting a definitive answer when the problem may not be licensee specific, a major problem. 7/10

Banking: The Gaming Club accept Payspark, click2pay, Neteller, Usemybank, Firepay, Moneybookers, ECO, Visa, Mastercard, Visa Delta and Diners Club. Payouts can be slow, even taking a full week to Neteller. 5/10

Bonuses: The Gaming Club have recently greatly improved their bonus structure to the industry standard of sitting in for a hand, counting towards your raked hand total, which greatly improves the appeal of the bonuses on offer here which are normally very good. Currently there is $200 on offer paid incrementally from only a $20 deposit dependant on meeting the wagering requirements. 9/10

Game Availability: The Gaming Club, and Prima Poker Network as a whole are now growing very quickly after a considerable time of stagnation, in part due to the high profile of their sponsored team, The Hendon Mob, and in part due to the change in bonus requirements that have made this easier to claim. There is a bias more towards the big bet games of No Limit and Pot Limit here that is more marked than on other sites, so if you prefer this variation, then The Gaming Club Poker could be the one for you. With many US centric rooms also feeding onto The Prima Network, there is an abundance of games from 2pm to 4am GMT, with high tournament traffic from 8pm to around 5am GMT. 8/10

Game Toughness: The Gaming Club have some very weak players at all levels, possibly attracted by the generous daily freerolls, creating some of the easiest poker games on the internet. This site is a must for any player who is serious about exploiting the poker fish pond. 9/10

Total 45/60 (Print this article)
