Victor Chandler Poker (VC Poker) have been around since 2002 when they were the first to launch on the Tribeca Tables software, and which now has over 60 ‘skins’ all feeding into the same network of tables. The Victor Chandler group is one of the world's leading independent bookmaking and gaming groups. With offices in London, Gibraltar and the Far East the company offers a wide range of gaming products tailored to each individual market. Currently attracting customers from more than 160 countries the parent company's rapid growth in the last ten years has taken the industry by storm. VC Poker is a name you can trust and rely upon.
Software: VC Poker are using the Tribeca Tables software on the Apex Network. The overall black and green colour scheme works well with this already colourful looking software, where every player has a little coloured symbol to choose from as their own ‘avatar’. The sounds are different too, with an authentic clicking sound as your chips splash the pot. There is a chat room in the lobby that is always busy, and hosts are always in attendance to answer your questions. There is a good buddy list that can immediately tell you where your friends and foes are playing poker at that instant. Missing is a hand history function, and the tables are nine handed rather than the traditional ten. Overall functions are quick and easy to use, and the niggles are small. 8/10
Support: You get more than the works here, with prompt email reply, knowledgeable telephone support, and prompt replies to Live chat enquiries by pinging manager in the lobby or at the tables. The only fly in this particular poker ointment is the less than accurate, sometimes misleading information delivered in the lobby by the hosts, and in particular the rudeness and random banning of chat facility that one staff member in particular seems more than happy to hand out. If it were not for this, then a maximum score would be achievable in this section. 8/10
Banking: VC Poker will be fine for most UK users, with debit and credit cards plus Neteller all on offer, for overseas players, perhaps the addition of options such as Citadel or Firepay would help, overall though, not too bad, although pay outs can be slow. 6/10
Bonuses: There is joining bonus of up to $100, until February 2005, VC Poker had never given a re-load bonus, but they do seem to have woken up to the industry standard, and are offering their first ever re-load, time will tell if this is a one off, or if more of the same will appear in future. There are a lot of freerolls that require some play to qualify for entry, and Action Points that can be redeemed for vouchers once enough are earned, however their earn rate is very slow and next to worthless in reality. 4/10
Game Availability: Not the busiest network, but with a large UK base, there are a reasonable amount of games during the day and evening for European players. Tournaments however are plentiful, and the standard shockingly bad, so money can be made here for sure, and the other failings can easily be overlooked in favour of a profitable outcome over the long run. 6/10
Game Toughness: As stated in availability, there can be some juicy games, especially in tournaments, and some decent overlays in guaranteed events. The ring games are not overly busy, but a marked tendency for all-in bluffs means patience can pay big dividends if you’re prepared to wait long enough, which may be a lot more frequent than you’d believe. 8/10
